About Mindy

Hi! I’m Mindy, founder of 1030 Clothing!

Teacher by day, fashion designer by night — when the final school bell rings, you’ll probably find me sewing into the moonlight or roller-skating and jamming out to Stevie Wonder.

I’ve loved clothing for as long as I can remember. I was the kid draping scarves into “couture” looks and roping my sister into countless Christmas Fashion Show Specials (she’s still a good sport about it).

That childhood passion led me to earn my BA in Apparel Design and spend years working in the NYC garment industry before starting my own delivery tailoring business. Eventually, I realized I wanted to give back — so I became a fashion teacher. 30 years later, I’m still teaching, still designing, and still completely in love with the art of clothing.

Beyond fashion, I’m an environmentalist and a deeply spiritual person. Those values are woven into everything I create.

1030 Clothing is the beautiful fusion of all my passions — teaching, designing, sustainability, and creativity. (I don’t design roller skates though… that would be THE ULTIMATE.) Every piece I make and every client I work with gets my whole heart. My goal is simple: to help you find or create garments that make you feel confident, radiant, and utterly you.

Behind the Brand

My mission is to express the same values that I live by. Clothing can be sustainably and responsibly made and I am committed to doing good at every turn, and that means treating others, ourselves, and the environment with care.

Here’s a few of my ethical and feel good practices:

  • My products are eco-friendly. All fabrics are made from sustainable fibers such as bamboo, organic cotton, and more. Don’t believe us? Every product description has fiber details and certifications listed.
  • I pay a living wage. All garments are happily sewn in the Bay Area of California using fair wages and ethical manufacturing practices. This dramatically reduces the carbon footprint of shipping the goods to you!
  • Low carbon footprint. I produce only small batches of clothing at a time, reducing clothing waste and unnecessary environmental damage.

Note - Fabric tariffs are forcing me to get CREATIVE. Stay tuned for our official launch date!
